Glow Stories

You Can't Find Me!

A little rabbit. Some terrible hiding places. Lots of looking.

Meet Bunny, a little white rabbit who thinks he's an expert at hide-and-seek.

He has a plan. Actually, he has several plans. He hides behind a flower, a banana, a toothbrush, and all sorts of familiar objects.

Unfortunately for Bunny, he's not nearly as good at hiding as he thinks.

With playful clues, predictable discoveries, and a few increasingly silly hiding places, You Can't Find Me! invites learners to look closely, find Bunny, and enjoy the surprises together.

Where's Bunny hiding now?

You Can't Find Me! is an interactive Glow Story created for learners who benefit from accessible, carefully controlled visual experiences.

Each round begins with a little clue about a familiar object.

Something yellow. Something yummy. A banana!

Bunny hides, the reader finds him, and Bunny reacts with increasing disbelief.

The repeated pattern gives learners time to anticipate what comes next while the changing objects, hiding places, and Bunny's funny responses keep the story entertaining.

Pictures begin simply, with large, recognizable objects against black backgrounds. As visual complexity is increased, more of the surrounding world can appear.

The result is a playful story that encourages looking, searching, recognizing, and sharing discoveries.

Practice

Meet the Objects

Explore Bunny and the familiar objects he hides behind before reading the story.

Pictures are presented individually on a black background, giving learners time to notice each object, examine its features, and become familiar with what they'll encounter.

Optional spoken labels, pacing adjustments, and visual attention supports can help adults adapt the experience.

Story

Find Bunny!

Follow Bunny through his increasingly unsuccessful attempts at hiding.

Short clues introduce familiar objects. Bunny hides, the reader discovers him, and Bunny responds with surprise, frustration, or another slightly ridiculous excuse.

The story builds toward a final search-and-find challenge with other rabbits and more visual information.

One story. Different amounts of visual information.

Sometimes the best place to begin is with one clear picture and very little else.

You Can't Find Me! starts with recognizable objects and Bunny presented against a simple black background.

The visual complexity setting lets adults gradually introduce more of the scene—backgrounds, surrounding objects, and other visual information.

The familiar story remains the same, but the visual experience can change.

This allows learners to begin with a simpler presentation and explore more complex visual scenes when they're ready.

Bunny has one last trick.

After being discovered behind flowers, bananas, socks, and other everyday objects, Bunny decides to try something different.

This time, there are other rabbits.

The familiar white Bunny must be found among rabbits that look similar, and the search can become more challenging as additional rabbits and background detail appear.

It's a playful extension of the story that offers opportunities to recognize a familiar character, locate him among other objects, and distinguish him from similar-looking rabbits.

And Bunny, naturally, remains convinced he's the hide-and-seek champion.

A little flexibility makes a big difference.

You Can't Find Me! includes settings that allow adults to adjust the experience to suit different learners.

The story can begin with minimal background detail, while complexity and pacing can be adjusted to provide additional opportunities for looking and searching.

Practice offers separate opportunities to explore individual objects, with options for spoken labels and visual attention supports.

The aim is not to make every learner use the story in the same way. It's to provide a comfortable starting point and the flexibility to explore further.

  • Adjustable visual complexity — Control how much background information appears.
  • Adjustable pacing — Allow additional time to look and respond.
  • Practice Mode — Explore recognizable objects individually.
  • Salient-feature supports — Optional visual cues that direct attention toward useful identifying features during Practice.
  • Narration and captions — Support shared reading and access to the story.
  • Predictable story pattern — Familiar clues, discoveries, and Bunny's humorous reactions.

More than just finding a rabbit

The story offers opportunities to use vision in meaningful ways, without turning the experience into a series of exercises.

Visual Attention

Notice and attend to Bunny or a familiar object presented clearly on the screen.

Object Recognition

Become familiar with everyday objects such as flowers, bananas, socks, toothbrushes, and chairs.

Visual Search

Look for Bunny within increasingly detailed scenes.

Visual Discrimination

Distinguish the familiar white Bunny from other rabbits with different appearances.

Anticipation

Learn the repeated pattern of clues, hiding, discovery, and Bunny's response.

Shared Participation

Enjoy the clues, find Bunny together, anticipate his reaction, and laugh at his not-so-clever hiding places.

These are opportunities built into the story—not tasks every learner must complete.

A few ideas for sharing the story

Meet Bunny first. Begin with Practice. Let the learner spend time looking at Bunny and the familiar objects before reading.

Play the guessing game. Listen to the clues and wonder what object Bunny might choose next. Give the learner time to anticipate the reveal.

Find the real things. Bring a banana, sock, toothbrush, or other familiar object into the activity. Explore it together and compare it with the picture.

Try a different amount of detail. Begin with a simple scene. Add background information gradually and see what the learner notices.

A story worth sharing

You Can't Find Me! was made with learners with CVI, visual impairments, and complex learning needs in mind—but it's meant to be enjoyed as a story first.

There's a little mystery, plenty of repetition, and a rabbit who is absolutely certain he's impossible to find.

Sometimes the best part isn't finding Bunny. It's the moment someone sees him, anticipates what's next, or shares a laugh when his latest hiding place turns out to be another terrible idea.
